A New Statue for Presentation Campus

I am delighted to report that as I type, the new Statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary for Our Lady of the Presentation Lecture Hall and Library is being brought from the studios of Rohn Design in Pittsburgh for our ribbon-cutting on Monday evening.

This original statue was hand carved in wood by Edmund Rabunser, a master wood carver in Ortesei, Italy.  The antique finishes, complete with layers of gold leaf, are the work of Renate Rohn.

The Blessed Virgin holds the Christ child as he opens his arms to embrace the world for whom he became flesh and for whose salvation he would offer the perfect sacrifice on the altar of the Cross.

The statue will have an honored place in the new Lecture Hall and Library.
