Saying Thank You for Deacon House

This weekend we say thank you to all those who have made Deacon House come true!  Before nine Deacons and Father VanDeMoortell move in, we are welcoming the Brighton community to come by for an open house and a bit of a picnic.  More on that to come!

But in the calm before the picnic begins, there are so many people to thank.  First and foremost John Williamson, our faithful architect and Greg and Mark and Kendall of Santini, Inc.  And then there are all the people who pitched in last minute, from my wonderful staff (each of you have had a part!), our beloved Vietnamese Seminarians (pictured below), the anonymous rug installer who came to the rescue yesterday, the folks at Mark's movers who expertly installed a five foot solid marble statue in the front hall, Rolf and Renate Rohn of Rohn Design, who provided typically great advice (Renate is almost finished with the 18' apse painting in the Chapel), Victor, who is washing the floors one last time as I speak, Juan, our brilliant landscaper, Msgr Johnson for his expertise in design and color and countless hours over the past year, the Catholic Foresters, who provided the Altar, Deb Dillon and the RCAB folks who helped us acquire so many items, the Theological Institute, who provided so many items for the Lecture Hall and who will happily join us on this campus as their second home, etc. etc. etc.

So now to the picnic, and tomorrow night, a dinner for the Faculty in this newest home of Saint John's Seminary.  May Christ form many shepherds after his own heart in this holy house!
