Ask not for whom the bell will toll...

Mike Kokoszka, our resident Master of Clocks, has been studying the courtyard clock, which appears to have been out of use for a long time (we found this work order next to the clock, dated 1950!).

Mike's preliminary diagnosis is that the mechanism seems to be intact and he is presently consulting with specialists to see if we can get it going. While we were up there Armand Dilando was able to ring the bell (which used to toll the hours) while Father O'Connor and I just looked on in amazement. By the way, the first picture is taken from behind the bell we ring with the rope, which is on the same level as the mechanical clock.
